Four-Door Fun: Forza 3 to also feature sedans and SUVs
It's been two weeks since Forza Motorsport blessed us with one of their Pit Pass blog updates, so that means it's time for another round of screen shots and a look at some of the new vehicles that will be in the third installment of the video game set to hit store in October. Previous installments have included a Le Mans and a Japanese theme, and but time the focus is on 'sport luxury' vehicles. We say vehicles and not cars, because Forza 3 will also feature an entire range of SUVs and crossovers. That's right, you'll be able to tackle Le Mans or Laguna Seca in a BMW X5 xDrive 4.8i, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Audi Q7 V12 TDI, Volkswagen Toureg R50, and more. We wonder how much weight we can knock off a Porsche Cayenne Turbo S in the tuning garage...
Forza 3's updated vehicle list also now includes new models like the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG Black Series, BMW E60 M5, Chrysler 300C SRT8, Pontiac G8 GXP, and more. No new tracks were featured this time, but with over 100 racing venues in the game we're sure there will be plenty more to come. Check out all of the new high-res screen shots in the gallery below.

So hopefully this game will have such realistic physics that if I'm bored and want to find out how fast the Range Rover sport can lap the nurburgring, I should be able to find out?

Forza 2 is the most realistic driving simulation I played so far... hopefully this will improve, not degrade to arcade mediocrity!
why not the LS2LS7? 4:36PM (7/15/2009)
You won't get a figure that means anything.
The physics are incredibly realistic, but you have two things going against you.
First, that there are so many variables. Humidity, tire wear, etc. These can change the results a lot, so much that they don't match what you would get if you just found a vehicle and ran it.
Second, garbage in, garbage out. As accurate as the simulation might be, it's only as accurate as the data input. And if they get the weight wrong, or the amount of travel of the suspension, or the torque curve for the engine, the results are accurate for the inputs, but not accurate for the actual vehicle.
Just play the game and enjoy it, but you're not going to get any meaningful data out of it.

^I know it's wishful thinking, but if the game WAS that acurate, holy F would it be awesome.

the tracks in forza are gross simplifications of their real life counterparts
that was sets GT4 apart from forza 1&2

well .. if it's any consolation, my fastest lap round the ring in FM2 with the Z06 is 7:41.xx ... it's pretty accurate. i have over 100 laps with the Z06, and that is the fastest I can run it stock.

The screenshot shows a Range Rover and not a Range Rover Sport, so will both be available?

I sooooo can't wait for this game and have already pre-ordered. Looks like they finally added everything that was missing from Forza 2 - specifically, in car views.

+1
In-car views FTW!

This game is going to be epic. Gran Turismo 5 better pull out something wild, Polyphony has been working on it for forever now.

Forza 2 had Sedans, It had the SRT8 Charger, the Mitsu Evo, the C32, the Impreza, etc.

Yeah, I dont see why it's news to see newer sedans.
I kind of expected it.

Those are compacts, or more precisely, sport compacts (not the charger). Sedan implies full or midsize 4 door. Besides, this was just a way for them to tie the new cars they wanted to announce this week under a similar theme.

This game isn't realistic at all. It won't even let me put NOS on my '95 Integra. What's up with that?
