Lamborghini Insecta concept has us buggin' out

Playing a quick game of automotive-animal word association, you'd probably link Lamborghini to a bull. Between the emblem on the hood, supercars named after famous fighting bulls and the farming roots of the company, the association is well established. Iulian Bumbu thinks otherwise. The aspiring Romanian car designer, who interned at Alfa Romeo's styling department after earning his master's in car design in Milan, created the design study you see here.
Called the Insecta, the radical concept's design elements were borrowed from bugs instead of bovines.
Combining organic shapes with Lamborghini's trademark geometric angles, the Insecta concept integrates themes culled from the body armour observed on certain species of insects. With its dimensions and powertrain borrowed from the Gallardo, the Insecta would pack a sting as sharp as its buzz, and it could make a compelling successor to the current LP560-4 – but Lambo would have to drop a load of bull first.

i'm not sure how i feel about it....
i dig the overall shape, but i dont really care for the headlights / mouth combo. it looks scared. its certainly not intimidating.

Yea I can't make up my mind. I like parts of it but don't like it. Idk but the fact that I have to debate on it signals to me that it's not all that great. I agree though the headlights should be more "angry" for lack of a better term...

yeah, agreed.
I think it looks good... but to be a real lambo the eyes/mouth combo needs to look intimidating...
imagine parking this next to a ferrari... the ferrari owner would just say "ha, looks like your lambo is scared of my car!"

If I was told this was a design sketch for an upcoming Lamborghini, I would have believed it.

+1
that says supercar clearly
some of the latest supercars (corvette ZR1, 991 GT3 RS) just have supercar performance not the looks
this one is a killer in looks
love it

The side-mirrors are so far high up that unless your head was sticking out of the roof, you couldn't use them.
Not too bad but the rear needs a little work. Not indication of the what rear lights would look like if lit. I'll stop complaining now lol.

unless... the side mirrors can be moved!! that would be the automotive innovation of the year, far surpassing any silly 'green' initiatives...

Head-on, it looks like a Gator. Also, those side-view mirrors look like little ears...nice looking car, though!

Looks AWESOME from the front and rear but the side profile is too much like a Fisker + Lotus lovechild which isn't pretty.

that car looks scared sh__less, or at least really worried. but then again, in this economic crisis, i suppose that is how supercars should look. now that wealth is frowned upon, luxury items should look apologetic and scared. i'm sorry i'm so expensive, please don't throw rocks at me!
