Didn't Space 1999's Moon Base Alpha have a couple of these in the garage?
Looking like a Mitsubishi Delica that's spent too much time in the boil wash, Daihatsu's Mud Master-C is a kei car, but with lofty ambitions. This is far from Daihatsu's first foray into the off road world - they've made jeeps and even jacked up kei vans in the past - albeit all shod with far smaller wheels than these cool 16-inch alloys. Who knows, this could even make production. Click here to read our original post with more details on Mud Master Concept and check out the gallery of live shots below.

Who cares! But can she ride?

Wipe- Uh no. Cute as she may be, those are not rider legs.
Technical question- can anyone make out what the line going into the rear hub center is? Hanging rather precariously into space.

rebirth of the hijet, huh? i think it's a good idea, but they're gonna hafta do something about that high center of gravity!
The way it is now you'd either have to drive really slow or avoid really rough terrain, which pretty much defeats the purpose of this truck

What's wrong with going slow??? My 4Runner had to have a similar CG, and it never flopped over- just made me pucker up real good a few times.

Daihatsu makes some very interesting stuff. It's a pity Toyota only Scionizes a small number of models, as there's a few gems that would appeal to the younger market that Toyota hasn't been able to reach.
I always though the old IS (the four-cylinder, especially) would have done better as a Scion than it did as a Lexus.

_Amazing_ running ground clearance because of the lack of visible differentials! That's because they have transfer gears _inside_ the wheels. Check out the drive train picture in the gallery. I wouldn't buy this car since I'd be sure to loose my legs in a head on collision, but I'd love to see this drive train design in a more traditional offroad vehicle.

Very, VERY cool! Simple and functional, with a stylish look. The hanging taillights are a bit strange though.
And with the tall stance and short wheelbase, I bet it would buck like a bull on the road! Do you get extra points for staying in your seat for 8 seconds?
