2005 Acura RL wins "Tech Car of the Year" award

CNET.com announced Wednesday that it selected the Acura RL as the winner of its first annual "Tech Car of the Year" award. The Acura RL was selected based on its "best and innovative power train, safety technologies, and in-cabin electronics."

The Acura beat out competitors from Audi, BMW, Cadillac, Infiniti, Lexus, Mercedes and Land Rover.

CNET's editors selected the RL not only for offering leading edge technologies, but also for seamlessly integrating them into the driving experience. Noted features included live traffic information integrated with the nav system, Bluetooth phone integration, and a Bose DVD audio system with road-noise-canceling capability.

Runner-up was the 2006 BMW 750Li.
