2019 Nissan Murano

2019 Murano Photos

The 2019 Nissan Murano finds itself with even more competition this year as several new mid-size crossovers have entered the market in the past few months. As a result, it's not quite as competitive as it once was, especially if you're seeking something sportier to drive or an SUV with greater utility. Still, the Murano continues to possess sharp styling unlike anything else out there and a high-quality cabin that provides plenty of creature comforts. Choosing a Murano may not be the most sensible one, but it's not a bad choice and definitely indicates you're willing to be a little different than the norm.

For 2019, the Murano gets a mild styling refresh, but it's mostly a matter of details – it's still very much in the avant garde Murano mold that dates back three generations. There are also three new paint colors, new faux wood trim available, and a variety of extra safety features including a driver inattention warning system, knee airbags, rear-seat side airbags, and availability of Safety Shield 360, Nissan's suite of driver aids (automatic forward and reverse emergency braking, blind-spot and lane-departure warning, and automatic high-beam headlights).

There are four 2019 Murano trim levels: S, SV, SL and Platinum. With a few key extras like a leather-wrapped wheel, power front seats, roof rails, and remote ignition, we think Murano buyers should start their search with the SV. The base model just doesn't provide enough value beyond a compact SUV with a similar price tag. Every Murano standard with a continuously variable transmission (CVT), front-wheel drive and a 3.5-liter V6 (260 hp, 240 lb-ft of torque). All-wheel drive is an option on all. Fuel economy is impressively 20 mpg city, 28 mpg highway and 23 mpg combined regardless of drivetrain.
