Mercedes SLS AMG GT Final Edition marks end of AMG's first sports car

This is one of those moments when we hate to see it leave, but we love to see it go. The subject at hand is, of course, the brilliantly brutal Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG, the first vehicle developed fully by AMG. Last week we learned that Mercedes will cease to produce the company's flagship sportscar and send it off with a limited-edition model, the

2015 Jaguar F-Type Coupe is a seriously pretty kitty

The F-Type roadster is a beautiful car, but if we're honest, the coupe might be even more so. The hard top creates a smooth, uninterrupted line from the windshield all the way back to the rear of the car, the kinked-up rear-quarter windows are a nice touch and, overall, the design looks more organic than the roadster.

Our hats are off to Porsche's 2014 911 Turbo Cabriolets

Porsche has just debuted its two latest decapitated rocket sleds today at the LA Auto Show, the new 911 Turbo Cabriolet and Turbo S Cabriolet, which share their coupe counterparts' 520-horsepower and 560-hp 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged flat-six engines. That kind of power ought separate a lot of hats (and toupees!) from heads.

Is this the first-ever 360-degree barrel roll in a truck?

Baja 1000 racer Adrian Cenni put on a show at the pre-race "contingency" in Ensenada, Mexico, performing what is claimed to be the first 360-degree barrel roll in front of a live audience - he isn't called "The Wildman" for nothing. But the claim isn't true, as Rob Dyrdek did a barrel roll in a Chevrolet Sonic, and Damon Lowney

Kubica crashes out of first full WRC event [w/video]

Robert Kubica seems to have more bad luck than most top-tier race car drivers, but maybe that's because his high-profile crashes since 2011 have garnered more media attention than his achievements. When we left off with him last month, he was within spitting distance of winning WRC2, and he indeed won the championship in late October. Now here's the bad news: he

Carbon Motors' would-be cop car headed to auction

Carbon Motors seemed to be on track to produce its E7 purpose-built police car last year, but then the US Department of Energy rejected its request for a $310-million loan and the situation went south from there. The company filed for bankruptcy four months ago and had only produced one E7, a working prototype that isn't stree

Hot Wheels creates ultimate test track for dads

There have been some really crazy Hot Wheels tracks created over the years, from home-grown masterpieces like this to 'official' versions such as the "highest" wall track. But the folks at the diecast-car company have outdone themse

Watch these hyper-realistic R/C tractors farm a mini field

As a teenager, I was obsessed with radio-controlled cars, which led to my purchase of a Team Associated RC10T3 and a Team Losi XXX buggy (remember those?). The fun of owning them was their ability to drive over almost any surface and, crucially, launch off jumps to dizzying heights. But apparently there's a crowd of R/C enthusiasts who prefer fully functioning radio-controlled tractors that can plow fields.

Alabama motorcycle cop resigns after drag racing video goes viral [UPDATE]

Common sense should guide police officers to not do what they give citations for - such as drag racing - but common sense was nowhere to be found when an Alabama motorcycle cop accepted a challenge to drag race a motorcyclist. Twice. Unfortunately for the officer, the civilian rider, Lawrence Lee Spillers, recorded the whole thing on his helmet-mounted GoPro camera and posted the video to YouTube, which went viral and caused the officer to resign before he was fired.

Akerson may leave GM next year, search for replacement not started yet

Already there are many signs that suggest General Motors CEO Dan Akerson will retire next year, but he hasn't formally announced his plans to GM's board, The Economic Times reports, and the search for a new CEO apparently hasn't started. If Akerson retires next year, as is speculated, the move would come sooner than when was expected when he took the job back in 2010.

Honda reveals updated rest-of-world Civic hatchback

The rest of the world's most recent Honda Civic was introduced for 2012, and it looks much the same as the 2014 model Honda will release in January to European and Asian markets. In fact, not much has changed, but a retuned power steering system, revised front and rear damping rates and rear wheel toe and camber adjustments are touted to make the hatchback drive better, Damon Lowney
