Transcript: From military vehicle to electric beach buggy. eMoke is an all-electric beach buggy. Originally called Moke, it was designed in the 1950s to be a military vehicle for the British Army. Its designer, Sir Alec Issigonis, also designed the Mini. It didn't meet military requirements so it was produced as a civilian vehicle. The eMoke is a low-speed vehicle with a max speed of 25 mph, seats 4 and has a 40-mile range on a single charge. It can fully charge in 8 hours with a 110-volt outlet. eMoke is available in 9 colors, and is equipped with with hydraulic steering and front wheel drive. Assembled in America the eMoke beach buggy starts at $17,970.
