After just a few short years on the market, the current Ford Focus RS is ending production on April 6, 2018. Ford announced the car's end last year along with a limited edition model, but the actual finale has been unclear until now. In order to celebrate the Focus, RS models and the 50th anniversary of the Escort, Ford UK announced a 50-model run of the killer looking Focus RS Heritage Edition. The package includes both visual and performance upgrades.
As this is a UK-only model, all 50 cars will be right hand drive. The final 50 right-hand drive models from Ford's plant in Germany will be Heritage Editions. The car comes with a Quaife limited-slip differential and a dealer-fitted FPM375 Mountune upgrade. The upgrade adds a high-flow induction kit, uprated turbo recirculating valve and a new calibration to the 2.3-liter turbocharged inline-four. On overboost, the car will make 370 horsepower 376 pound-feet of torque, up from 350 horsepower and torque.
All 50 cars will be painted Tief Orange and will have black wheels, mirror caps and spoilers. The brake calipers will all be painted grey. Other features include Recaro seats, tinted windows, rear parking sensors, power-fold door mirrors and a heated steering wheel.
As always, the Focus RS includes all-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transmission. The Focus RS Heritage Edition will be priced at £39,895, or $55,657. That's £3,600 more than a base Focus RS. Not cheap by any stretch, but none of these special edition models ever are. For reference, a base Volkswagen Golf R starts at £32,850 in the UK while an Audi RS3 Sportback starts at £44,725.
