This is why they call it a Land Rover, not a Sea Rover

Why is this man's Land Rover in the ocean? He wanted to take scenic photos of his pride and joy on the Jersey Shore with the Atlantic as background. But then the rig got stuck in the wet sand, and the tide came in. And his attempts to free it with a shovel, as waves break over the Rover, were too little too late.

New Jersey State Park Police and a tow truck arrived at Island Beach State Park and were quickly able to free the Rover. Says NBC New York: "Witnesses said the man insisted on driving the vehicle away after it was towed, even though its lights were flashing and its engine was making strange sounds."

On the bright side, he wanted a picture, and that's what he got.
