Fifth Place – 2017 Honda Civic Si

Managing Editor Greg Rasa: There's puzzlement out there about why the latest Si doesn't have more horsepower. But, from a real-world standpoint this should be a blast as a daily driver, a lot of fun for the money.

Senior Editor Alex Kierstein: The new mid-grade sporty Civic seems like a dud if you only see the horsepower number. And from a bragging rights standpoint, that might be fair. But the Si's appeal is going to be power-to-weight. We don't know the exact number, but Honda promises it'll be lighter than the last Si – and that means it'll be more than 200 lbs lighter than the more powerful Focus ST.

Fourth Place – Lincoln Navigator

Senior Editor Alex Kierstein: I’m giving Lincoln a lot of credit because of how special they made the Navigator look. Lots of concept elements carried over, but more importantly it looks and feels good. It seems expensive, something Lincolns have struggled with recently. The materials all feel top-notch. It's not a Ford with leather anymore, it's on its way to being something real special.

Autoblog Green Editor John Beltz Snyder: Huge SUVs aren’t usually high on my list of favorites, but the execution here is remarkable. The Navigator looks fresh but not weird, carrying over a lot of elements from the concept vehicle. Those wheels are mesmerizing, too.

Third Place – 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk

Consumer Editor Jeremy Korzeniewski: Who knew that the world's most practical muscle car would be an SUV?

Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale: While it was only a matter of time before FCA stuffed the whole Hellcat enchilada into one of its SUVs, the really impressive part here is that they managed to hook it up to an all-wheel-drive system robust enough for the engine. I wonder when this setup will find its way into a Durango.

Second Place – Toyota FT-4X concept

Editor-in-Chief Mike Austin: Yes, the message was off and Toyota missed a chance to build an FJ-style Bronco-fighter. But I love all the design touches and the way every part of the car is interactive and useful.

First Place – 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon

Senior Editor Greg Migliore: The single most memorable car of the show and perhaps the year. The Demon reigned supreme in New York.

Executive Editor David Gluckman: Of course the Demon wins, in part because it's insane but also because we don't have to endure any more teasers. And we finally know what all the inscrutable clues mean.

Associate Editor Reese Counts: After all of the hype, I was prepared to be disappointed. I thought Dodge had built this car up too much and that there was no way it could ever live up to our expectations. I admit I was wrong. The raw numbers – 840 horsepower, 0-60 mph in 2.3 seconds, and the quarter mile in 9.65 seconds at 140 mph – are frankly staggering for a production car. Pricing hasn't been announced, but Dodge is trying to keep it under $100,000. My only disappointment is the lack of a roll cage. You can't participate in NHRA-sanctioned races without one.
