Mercedes-AMG has released its first teaser for the new AMG GT R, revealing that the even hotter sportscar will debut on June 24. Oh, and it will be very, very green. Literally, not figuratively.
The 15-second teaser shows a gorgeous matte lime finish that we can't wait to see in the flesh. Along with the standard GT S and the G-Wagen 4x4, Mercedes has really been trying to taste the rainbow with expressive, exuberant colors. We approve. Beyond the paint scheme, there's a peek at the new badging – the GT R replaces the silver-on-black "S" badge and chromed AMG badges with a black-on-yellow "R" badge and blacked-out AMG and GT lettering. Oh yeah, there's a big fixed wing, too.
The brief clip of the cabin shows a lightweight, racing bucket with yellow stitching on the headrest and a yellow seatbelt draped over a bolster. But we can't see too much beyond those few details.
Of course, we aren't going to be waiting long to get all the details on the GT R. Mercedes will lift the veil in just over a week. Until then, catch up on our AMG GT R news here.
