Ken Block to contest World Rallycross Championship with Ford

Want to see Ken Block do his thing? The FIA World Rallycross Championship will be the place to see him this year. Ford Performance has announced with the video above that the gymkhana master will be contesting the full WRX season this year backed by Blue Oval factory support.

Of course, Block is no stranger to rallycross. He's just been focusing mostly on the US-based Global RallyCross Championship for the past few seasons, winning several events in the Ford Fiesta ST fielded by his Hoonigan Racing Division outfit. He's also competed in a handful of World Rally Championship events, though without much luck. In 2014, Block contested two rounds of the Euro-centric FIA World Rallycross Championship, and he'll be running the full calendar this year.

That includes rounds in Portugal, Belgium, Great Britain, Norway, Sweden, France, Latvia, and two in Germany. The closest we'll get on this side of the Atlantic to the sideways action are the rounds in Rosario, Argentina (where the Dakar Rally is based this year) and in Trois-Rivières, Quebec. The city is just an hour and a half up the Saint Lawrence River from Montreal, and has hosted Champ Cars and ALMS in the past, so that's where we'll be heading to see the Head Hoonigan do what he does best and exhibit his legendary and otherworldly car-control abilities in front of what will surely be enthralled crowds.
