Mercedes names Tobias Moers as head of AMG

Nature abhors a vacuum, and so does a management structure – especially at an automaker. So less than a week after Mercedes-Benz announced the retirement of sales chief Joachim Schmidt and the promotion of AMG boss Ola Källenius to fill his place comes the announcement of the new AMG chief.
The role now falls to one Tobias Moers, who has been with AMG since 1994 – long before Daimler took it over. Moers took over AMG's principal model line in 1999 and all automotive development in 2002, so he's as well versed in the outfit's operations and products as anyone could be. He'll officially take the helm on October 1, just as Källenius moves into his new job. Scroll down below for the official announcement.
