Authentic Nissan Leaf apparel says "don't half gas it"

/
Nissan's line of 100-percent authentic Leaf gear invites you to "Wear the Revolution." There are t-shirts with slogans ranging from "Goodbye Gas, Hello Leaf" to "Don't Fill Up, Charge Up." Simple, clear and positive, right? Sure, but the shirt that caught the eye of an AutoblogGreen tipster was the one that reads "Don't Half Gas It." On the back of the 100-percent organic t-shirt is where you'll find the slogan that directly takes a shot at plug-in gas-electric vehicles like the Chevrolet Volt and Fisker Karma.
This tongue-in-cheek swipe at plug-in hybrids was intentional and pretty funny, but it's time for Nissan, Chevy and other automakers to stop taking cheap shots at each other. Instead, we'd suggest automakers focus on the fact that both plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles are typically far more efficient than their cats that use conventional drivetrains and that both types of vehicles appeal to a certain set of buyers.

Still, "Don't Half Gas It," will appeal to some drivers, and Nissan is making your snide purchase a bit kinder: for every item purchased at the Nissan Leaf Store, the Japanese automaker will donate $1 to the World Wildlife Fund.
