Video: Catch Black Current's record-setting 9.51 second 1/4-mile run

Black Current sets street-bodied 1/4 mile record – Click above to watch video after the jump

Back on April 23rd, Oliver Young strapped into his electrified Black Current dragster and whizzed down the quarter-mile track at the UK's Santa Pod Raceway with a record-setting time of 9.51 seconds, becoming the first street-bodied electric vehicle to blaze down 1,320 feet of tarmac in the 9's! That's definitely impressive considering that the gazillion-dollar Bugatti Veyron rips down a 1/4-mile track in the mid-10's.

Less than a week ago, we posted an older video of Black Current smoking a Tesla Roadster at the track. Now, we've come across fresh video of the Black Current's record-setting run. Hit the jump to watch the electrified VDub zip down the 1/4-mile track in the fastest 9.51 seconds around.
