If you're an automaker planning to release a plug-in hybrid or full EV, it's becoming commonplace to offer a smartphone app to keep tabs on the vehicle's charging state and other diagnostic info. Volvo obviously understands this and when its V60 Plug-In Hybrid goes on sale sometime next year, the automaker will offer a connected app that not only keeps the owner abreast of charging, but allows them to pre-heat or cool the interior directly from the app. The video below shows off the tech (right around the 2:30 mark), and while it's obvious Volvo couldn't get an iPhone rendering passed Apple's legal department, the concept comes across all the same.
