Brammo Enertia gets marketing push, photochopping spree and logo contest

As we wait (and wait) for the Enertia electric motorcycle to show up at Best Buy, the Brammo universe is (also) showing no signs of inertia. While it seems to have covered its funding and distribution bases, the company behind the machine has, besides competing in the TTXGP, been working on the marketing they hope will drive sales of their commuter bike. Being a somewhat innovative company they took an unconventional approach and acquired the talents of 38 interns from noted advertising firm Crispin Porter + Bogusky with a winning $17,655 bid on eBay.

So what did Brammo get for their advertising budget bucks? We're not completely sure. We have noticed some blogs and logo development and there was a rap video about being an intern which included the dubious rhyme, ahem, "I got girls on my jock 'cause I'm so epic. I got girls on my jock 'cause I went electric" and some shots of the Enertia at a photoshoot. However, it seems there is still a $1,000 logo contest underway and the CPB crew finished their summer stint last week. They may be behind the interim Brammo website and Brammo Community site that just went live but perhaps not.

What is pretty sure is that they didn't have anything to do with a recent rash of photochopping that has seen the "powercycle" appearing beneath the butts of the Terminator, Debbie Harry and Easy Ridin' Jack Nicholson with Peter Fonda. The images seemed to have arisen after graphic designer Timothy Wells sent the company his vision of a slightly evolved, self-named edition. Devotee Brammofan picked up on it and started an informal contest on his all-things-Brammo blog. Check out some of the entries in the gallery gallery below before hitting the jump for a new Enertia promotional video as well as the aforementioned intern rap video. Ahem.
