The Chevy Volt range extender will remain E85 capable

When General Motors first announced the Chevy Volt last January, one of the touted features was the range extender that was flex-fuel capable. That would allow the car to run on either gasoline or E85. A today report over on the GM-Volt.com site sited anonymous sources that the production Volt would be losing it's E85 capability. After checking with GM spokesman Rob Peterson he confirmed that there was no change in the plan and the production Volt would remain E85 capable. A diesel fueled E-Flex is also expected to join the the gas/E85 and fuel cell variants at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
