Ford has said for some time that they are working on a new B-Class car, smaller than the Focus for the North American market. I also recently spotted a Ford Fiesta with manufacturer plates on the road in South-East Michigan and Mazda just released preview shots of the new Mazda2 that will debut at the Geneca Motor Show next week. The Mazda2 would seem like an obvious basis for the new small Ford, and now Mark Fields has confirmed that this is indeed the case. Ford of Europe has lead responsibility for the new car that will be sold worldwide, should be on sale here withing two years.
