Wanna drive THE car to be seen in in 2007? Good luck

Certainly, not everyone believes that the Tesla Roadster is the Best Thing Since Sliced Bread, but the overall mood about the car is excitement and hope. Hell, we're more than excited to give the Roadster some real tests as soon as we can. While I was lucky enough to go for a two minute ride in the Roadster last summer, and others have taken rides more recently, the production models aren't ready yet, so we don't really know what driving the Roadster is like. Still, you can't beat the press Tesla has created around this all-electric sports car. AutoblogGreen participated, and I don't think it was unwarranted.

New Zealand auto site Lucire thinks the hype is worth it, too, and has named the Roadster the car to be seen in in 2007. This will be difficult, as the 100 Roadsters that will make up the initial shipment not only cost $100,000 each but are also sold out. Lucire likes not just the Roadster, but also the way Tesla Motors has been organized and how CEO Martin Eberhard is blogging about the company. We read it, too, because for now this is as close as we're going to get to the Roadster.
