Rinspeed eXasis concept has bioethanol powered supercharged 750cc engine

Swiss company Rinspeed is set to premier their newest concept car at the Geneva Auto Show in 2007. The vehicle was created to honor their 30 year anniversary. Rinspeed calls this a "glass car", although the clear body is of plastic.

Casual observers who are smitten by the vehicle may miss the fact that it is powered by a very small engine, just 750 cc -- considered "small" by even most motorcycle riders -- that runs on bioethanol. The twin cylinder engine makes good power, however, using a supercharger to boost output to 150 horsepower for a power to weight ratio equivalent to a Porsche, according to the press release cited in the link below.
