If you were a company in Iran, where oil is plentiful, would you be thinking of building
100,000 hybrid vehicles? You would if you were the Iran Khodro Company (IKCO) and you just wanted to fulfill your share of the government's request that the nation's automakers build 280,000 light
hybrids by March 20, 2007. While no Iranian hybrids have been produced in the factories, IKCO has already made about 7,0000 natural gas-powered vehicles. IKCO works with
Peugeot and it'll be interesting to see how the hybrid technology is implemented in Iran. Peugeot recently made a hybrid splash with the
307 CC Hybride HDi.
