Last year Autoblog reported on the OnStar Vehicle Diagnostics (OVD), an OnStar service which performs routine electronic 'checkups' on OnStar-equipped cars. According to the Auto Channel, response has been extremely favorable. Over a million owners of such vehicles have signed up for the service with many stating the e-mailed reports have significantly helped them to reduce maintenance and repair cost.
Feedback from customers is also guiding OnStar's future products. The reports, for example, now come also in Spanish. XM satellite radio, dealership, and recall information are also provided to subscribers.
