Autoblog reader Don brings us this news from within the walled garden of the Automotive News subscriber-based website. The General has decided to increase its warranties on both Buick and Hummer models to 4 years/50,000 miles in order to match those warranties offered by competing premium brands.
Previously both brands shared the same coverage as Chevy, GMC, Pontiac and Saturn, all of which carry 3-year/36,000-mile bumper-to-bumper and powertrain warranties. The new warranty for Buick and Hummer models now match those protection plans offered by such brands as Audi, BMW, Jaguar, Land Rover, Lincoln, Mazda, Mercedes-Benz, Porsche, Saab and Volvo.
BTW, Consumer Affairs has an article on Buick’s new warranty that you don’t have to pay to read.
