Melting miles of rubber in the RWD Silverado SS

The Silverado SS has not taken the sport truck world by storm. It was heavy, only available in AWD, expensive and lacked the horsepower to take on the Ram SRT-10. Chevy took care of three of these concerns with the new SS. It will only be available as rear-wheel drive, it sheds 258 pounds and the price drops $3,000 to $35,590. Engine power stays the same. PickupTruck.com also shares info on possible new more powerful engine choices for 2006 and a six-speed Allison transmission that will be available in 2006 2500/3500 HD trucks.
