X stands for small SUV from BMW and now Mercedes

AutoWeek brings news, and spy photos, of the Mercedes X-Class. Yes, this small SUV (once a sibling of the failed Smart ForMore) will compete with the BMW X3. No we don't like the conflicting X classifications either. I know this rivalry has to exist between the two but I"m getting tired of more and more luxury SUVs. The X-Class is rumored to have a rear seat that can slide forward and back, like GM's Equinox/Vue, and is built on the next generation C-Class chassis. Unlike the X3 being sold against an aging X5, the X-Class will be right next to a brand new M-Class. Do you think it will make any difference?
