Virtual assembly aids Ford Fusion

Ford used computer simulations to not only engineer the new Fusion itself, but also how it would be assembled in a plant. Through this process they discovered one center panel would take too much time and energy for workers to install repeatedly. All of this was discovered using computerized models of the car parts and assembly plant workers. Now the panel can be installed much faster for the folks on the line of Ford's Hermosillo, Mexico plant where the Fusion, Lincoln Zephyr and Mercury Milan will be assembled.
