Translogic 160: Detroit Bus Company

Keeping The Motor City On The Move With Biofuel Buses

We've all heard the stories of Detroit's stretched city services failing its residents, but we hear less about the residents who have stepped up to fill the gaps for their community.

Meet Andy Didorosi, the 27-year-old founder of The Detroit Bus Company. Andy's colorful, graffiti-art-covered busses got their start facilitating downtown barhopping, but now serve a higher calling, chartering Detroit kids to school through the Youth Transit Alliance. The well-loved busses may look vintage on the outside, but they run on green biofuels and utilize GPS tracking to meet the demands of modern public transportation.
