If imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, then Jerry Seinfeld should feel pretty charmed right now. A new video series is taking his Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee shorts and turning up the snark by retooling it as Pedestrians in Bars Eating Toffee. Instead of Seinfeld meeting a buddy in a classic car, the host talks to a friend about their favorite strolls around New York. No cars, no coffee, just a two guys talking about walking.

The parody nails all of the beats of the CiCGC videos from the music to the shot selection and editing, but it doesn't bring as much of the humor. Scroll down and give this parody a shot, and let us know what you think in Comments. If nothing else, it makes us look forward to Seinfeld's next season of videos.

Yawn. It's a decent spoof, but not very funny or entertaining.

This is absolutely hilarious. Very well done. And yes, it belong on Autoblog because that is where the audience of Seinfeld's show is - no one else would get the parody. If you're so concerned about missing out on news because of this, take a deep breath and go to the next article.

What does this have to do with cars?

For the humorless among us, it is a spoof of a series that has cars in it's title, and makes extensive use of said car in every episode. That is why it is in this place called Autoblog. I hope that helped clear it up.

Humorless? Well yes, it is a humorless spoof, of a humorless series, by a humorless comedian. I mean, what is the deal with cars and coffee? The 90's called and they want their 45 minutes of fame back... :-\ Seriously, this guy really sucks, even more so than Seinfeld does. I guess next we'll have to endure SNL skits of the Fast and Furious while real auto news goes unreported.

@Bernard, you're picking on 2 of the longest-lived icons of comedy in the television era. Is it possible that Jerry Seinfeld and SNL have such staying power because they're both actually pretty funny? Or do you always make a point of pretending to be on the leading edge of everything...

Hi there Paul, I've watched Jerry's web show, and it's pretty entertaining, especially the car part. A spoof of said web show that has NOTHING TO DO WITH CARS does not belong on Autoblog, hence Bernard's confusion. So no, you didn't help clear that up in any way, but thanks for trying.

I think I can answer this one... OK, so there's this comedian, Jerry Seinfeld, and he's a car guy and he does this series where he picks up other comedians while driving an interesting car and they go out and have coffee, see? And this...umm...uhhh. Hmmm. Yeah, this has nothing like that. So uh, no I can't answer your question. Sorry.

Seinfeld's show is Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. The name is a spoof, and the format of this show follows the format of that show pretty closely as well. If you haven't seen the Seinfeld show, look it up, it has some awesome cars and some pretty interesting dialog between Seinfeld and his guest that week.

There are some driving down the street in a few of the scenes.

Nothing... it's a spoof on an internet show that DOES have something to do with cars. That's all.

I enjoyed this very much. The lead actor is talented, that is for sure. Great imitation of the entire real series.

The only thing less funny than a Seinfeld episode is a low budget parody of a Seinfeld episode. Look, I'm not saying that these guys should kill themselves for making such a stupid video, but I wouldn't ENTIRELY rule out live streaming their ritual suicide as a viable option to redeem themselves for this mistake.

Damn you Apple, for allowing anybody the ability to make a professional quality video no matter how awesomely bad it ends up being.

Well he got half the question right at the end - Life is best when you're not dying but the second part has nothing to do with chocolate. It's when you're not in Prison! That's why Doctors and Lawyers get the big $.
