In this month's installment of From Russia with OMG, dashcam footage reveals another reason why local drivers should receive hazard pay. The black Ford Focus in the picture above is just about to run over a street trolley wire that has come undone and fallen onto the road. Or rather, that's what you'd expect to happen, but the trolley wire had a different idea that could be captioned with the line, "You shall not pass."

Unfortunately it appears the driver did not emerge entirely unscathed from the ensuing accident. But he did emerge, and in Russia, that looks to be a triumph. You can see watch it all happen in the video below.

This guy is a good example of what happens when you're russian to get somewhere and don't focus on your driving. If this guy continues to drive like this it will trolley happen again.

I love how the music was nearly synchronized to the accident.

A lot of folks have been commenting on the legality and difficulty of having a dashcam in the US - Where are they illegal? I\'ve had a dashcam in my car for 2+ years and been pulled over a few time in Georgia. Never had a problem or officer comment on it! It was also very easy and affordable ($100) to get. It never even crossed my mind that it would be an issue, but now I\'m reading the comments below and getting curious. Anyone have actual experience getting in trouble for having one?

How could a dashcam possibly be illegal? If you're driving on a road, you're most likely in a public place, and you are free to record in almost any public place.

That could have not been done any better even if it was planned.

Autoblog readers. If you drive across a trolley wire, whether your cars gets flipped or not, DO NOT GET OUT OF THE CAR! Electrocution is the next likely outcome in this sad tale. Inside you are likely safe. Getting out you're most likely dead. The only thing that saved this guy's bacon is the fact that whoever knocked it down to begin with likely disconnected it from the grid. If it had failed on the otherside....

There is no excuse for not being able to see that piece of metal and wire right in the middle of the road. The guy had plenty of space but ran right over it. He was probably yapping or texting on his cellphone.

But I like how the music was perfectly timed for the dramatic transition right after the car flipped backwards.

You see what you're expecting to see; you don't always know what you're looking at until it's too late. Quick reflexes and the grace of God have gotten me out of some sticky situations in my 18 years of driving, touch wood. Don't go judging when you can't know for sure what the world looked like through the other fellow's eyes.

Maybe the guy didn't know it was a downned trolly wire, or understand the potential consequences of hitting it (who could foresee that?) but even so it looks to me like he just drove right in to a big piece of debris in the middle of the road without seeing it or giving it a thought - that's pretty oblivious driving.
