There is little doubt that the darling of this year's SEMA Show in Las Vegas will be the Subaru BRZ/Scion FR-S twins. Stillen is one of many aftermarket tuners hoping to capitalize on the popularity of these two cars, and, in addition to developing performance parts like a cold-air intake, cat-back exhaust, big brake kit and sway bars, will reveal its first body kit for the FR-S in November at the big show in Vegas. The thing is, while Stillen is working on the performance parts, it wants you to design the body kit.

Stillen is now accepting submissions for a contest to design its new FR-S body kit, and what we like in particular about this competition is that you don't have to be a professional designer to win. Stillen is providing the templates to work with, so all you have to do is draw or render what you think the kit should look like from various angles. The contest rules say not to worry if you don't render 3-D objects for a living; judging will be done on shape and design rather than how well you can arrange 1s and 0s.

Submissions will be accepted until August 14th, after which Stillen will choose the top five entries and let the winner be decided by popular vote on Facebook. That person will get a two-night trip to Vegas to attend the SEMA Show in person where his/her design will be unveiled before it goes on sale to the public.

The only thing this car needs is stickier tires and a mild supercharger. Why ruin it with a stupid body kit that will look like crap and get scraped over the first speedbump??
And never match the factory paint. 9/10 cars on the road with body kits look like clown cars. Tasteful body kits are so rare these days. If you can't afford to do it right, then don't do it at all––at least on a car like the FR-S/BRZ.

Soooo You do all their work for them and you get to go to the armpit of the World for 2 days and thats it. They make tons of cash selling your design and you literally get shafted. Awesome contest.

Would rather they make a supercharger/turbo kit.

They will. There is already a turbo kit being worked on by some guys in Ohio. They only have preliminary numbers now, but its already making ~213 HP at the wheel with only 4 PSI of boost. That's about an increase of roughly 50 HP over stock (when calculating for driveline losses). And that is also with no other mods - stock exhaust and such. Tuning is going to be the biggest hurdle, but with just the turbo kit, I wouldn't be surprised if people could see gains of ~75 HP. With a full exhaust and intake, maybe 100. And this all from some random tuner shop. You know Subaru and Toyota are working on versions of their car. I hope the rumor that I heard before is accurate - Scion/Toyota goes with a supercharger, and Subaru goes with a turbo. That would really help differentiating these 2 nearly identical cars.

Why doesn't someone that actually knows something about aerodynamics design it Stillen?! Well done...

They gotta make it primer grey, so people can put them on and leave them in primer.

While we're at it, let's also have a fake hood scoop and a park bench spoiler. Sticker it up with Stillen/Neuspeed/AEM/Alpine/GReddy/Bilstein stickers and we'll have a 1500whp beast. (in case anyone doesn't "How to make your Honda faster")

Proof that Stillen body kits are pure decoration designed by amateurs.

I was never much a fan of body kits, especially on sports cars. I have seen them done in good taste on old Civic Coupes from the 90s, but on pretty much everything else out there, they tend to cheapen the car's appearance. The FR-S is one of those that doesn't need a body kit.
Agreed. Bodykits make tend to make cars look like some cheap eBay tuner trash. Not all, but most.

This is a SPEC contest. Just a way to take advantage of people. Try asking three cooks to prepare you a meal on the basis that you will pay the one thats make the best one. I hope Stillens "Winning Design" gets ripped off by China within 6 months.

Ugh, I can only imagine the variety of hideous body kits that will be available for this car. This is why I had to sell my Integra. So many boy racers riced them out there was no way for me to look mature driving it.

A body kit? Like this car needs any more RICE? It already looks ridiculous for a 200 hp car stock. Save for the turbo...or better yet, just by a WRX and go stage 2!
