Top Gear Series 17 trailer – Click above to watch the video after the jump

Series 17 of Top Gear is nearly upon us, the first episode scheduled to air on the BBC in just eleven days. So what can we expect from the latest series?

Well, the usual mix of epic road trips, comic shenanigans and celebrity cameos are in order. And there's really only one way to find out what those will entail. But in advance of the season's BBC debut, Top Gear has released the following advertising clip to get our juices flowing.

In the video after the jump, you'll see Jeremy Clarkson taking the McLaren MP4-12C around the track, James May riding shotgun in the Mini WRC car racing through the night against a luge, Richard Hammond trying to skipper a Dartz Prombron through city streets, Jezza and Hamster driving a used Porsche Boxster through the countryside, and Jeremy chauffeuring Bernie Ecclestone around Monte Carlo in a Citroën DS3 Racing, with the Abarth 500C and Renault Clio RS in tow.

Looks like a great season so far, and there's sure to be plenty more.

Whatever happened to their tour of the east coast of the US? I don't remember seeing it in Season 16...

I believe that one was technically a Special that they tagged on to the end of Season 15, as that's how it shows up in XMBC. Try there.

Awesome! Hot chick too. Yeeahh.. I did wonder in last season's montage, they had that giant monster truck, but didn't show it. They've been doing that lately. Damn credit crunch not allowing more episodes per series!! lol

Yawn. They jumped the shark about two seasons ago. After Botswana Special it's been all downhill. Clarkson's ego is a black hole and there's nothing left.

Everytime I see an episode that's a few years old, I'm aware of how much better a show it was not all that long ago. I still watch the new ones, but it's showing its age, as all shows do, sooner or later.

Personally, I like older Top gear episodes better because it felt like the car mattered (e.g. in Italian Supercars under £10,000). But in recent challenges (e.g. Middle East race and the Snowplow), it's all about the host's antics and less about the cars.

You said what I did but I got a -12 for it! But I agree. Bring back the cars and stop the adulation of sophomoric British men in jeans.

@carboy55 I find that the overall attitude of ones comment makes all the difference when getting rated by other users. Sometimes it may not even matter what the content of your comment actually is, as long as you're making a well-reasoned argument in a relatively positive, grammatically correct tone, your comment will get thumbs up.

@carboy55 Botswana was an incredible episode, and Clarkson's ego is designed (in part) to be the centerpiece of the show. The show works best broken, and we're not interested in anything else!

I can't either. As a side note, what kind of dick votes down a guy for saying "can't wait?" These damn faceless internet trolls are everywhere.

seriously...probably the same guys who voted you down. Makes me wish sometimes that you had to have approval to vote. Seriously some people need a life.

Haha.. Top Gear and F1 that should prove interesting. Curious if the gang will ask Ecelstone about bringing a F1 race to the Top Gear Test Track. :D
