2011 Porsche Cayenne – Click above for larger image

While we've seen several spy shots of 2011 Porsche Cayenne prototypes and mules, plus a few renderings that purport to show the real deal, Porsche apparently let the cat out of the bag by mistake... again. On the Porsche website, an image that shows the 2011 Cayenne right in the middle of a family picture magically appeared and was apparently swapped out later to include the current generation Cayenne GTS.

The Cayenne 2.0 in the photo looks athletic and trimmer, with huge wheels and big headlights that give it a startled appearance, maybe because it was caught with its pants down. Whether the image above is 'chopped or Porsche recognized the error of its ways and took the family pic down, we don't know. What we do know is that the '11 Porsche SUV will make its debut in Geneva next month. Until then, take a larger look at the image above and let us know what you think.

Wow that does look nice, look forward to seeing some close ups. Much better than the current one.

Agreed. Porsche's design group has finally listened to those who blamed the Cayenne for beig totally ugly. Althoug i still dislike any kind of SUVs (just no, ok?), i have to admit this is better looking than most of its competitors

Porche: Please apoligize for producing the Cayenne. Take your lumps and move on.

they clearly copied the Lada Niva , look at the wheels , they are round , just like the Lada's !

@ The Other Bob , did a Cayenne touch you in an appropriate way ?

        I agree again.
I disagree. I like the Cayenne a lot, and this refresh especially. Does anyone else see a bit of Aston Martin in the grille?

What are you talking about? If anything, it should be more like, thank you Cayenne for bringing in tons of money to porsche to help continue development on the more sportier Porsche cars.

So though id never buy one, lots of people who dont care that much about cars will, in turn funding the new 998 :)

      Holy smokes.

Shorten up the bottom of the air-dam a little bit... and slap that front end on the Panamera, PLEASE.

That and a bit more of a gracious curve in the roofline of the Panamera, and it would be so much more WIN than it currently is.

That new Cayenne front end is actually very slick.

Now that's what Cayenne should have looked like!

Would've been much better to move the panorama to the back. Like a MILE behind where the mountain is.

did they finally release the coxster? lol
      • 4 Years Ago
      OBVIOUS photochop.

It says CAR configurator, not TRUCK.
What? Deiter changed the color of the corner lamps on the 911? DAMMIT! Okay, someone find me a silver version of every car, and lets take a ride out to the salt lake again.... and ferchrissakes, don't forget your car-model specific license plate this time Jorge!
LOL , of course it's Photoshoped , you guys think they actually park the cars there and take pictures of them every time they add a new model ?
I mean, I know its sarcasam, but honestly, if you go to autoblog's image gallery and flip back and forth between the old and the new, it kind of does look like a photoshop.

I could be completely wrong. but it just looks a little off to me. the headlights just bother me for some reason. they are so clear on the current cayenne picture, but they are kind of blurred and glared on the new one.

2011 Porsche cayenne is smaller in size. New edition will be powered by 3.0 liter V6 turbo diesel engine which would generate 240hp. The 2011 Porsche Cayenne will make its debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show. For more details refer http://www.automotivecraze.com/2011-porsche-cayenne-deciphered/

ya.. all lookin alike nowadays..but gotta admit..its lookin better than b4!
Yeah, and I've mentioned this before, but when you think about it, are there actually ANY SUV type cars that most people say looks good? To name a few: X5, X6, ML, Land Rovers and the Q7 have a general view that they're ugly or okay, but certainly not pretty. Most from cheaper brands are at best neutral looking.

The point is, for all those that said the old Cayenne (or this new one) are ugly, that might just be the nature of all large vehicles, so you have to look in relative terms, in which this one passes well in my opinion.

I have no problem with the Cayenne, in fact it seems like the Porsche engineers really worked hard to make this thing a proper SUV, when the majority will never leave the pavement. I respect that. But it is sort of surreal when you drive through the suburbs and there are just tons of Porsches, albeit Cayennes, being driven by housewives blabbering on their cell phones. Buy hey money is money, so it's a win for Porsche.
