Pics Aplenty: More 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo goodness
2010 Porsche 911 Turbo - click above image for high-res gallery
We're sure some of you are cool enough to be "friends" with Porsche on Facebook, and if you are, you were treated to a smattering of new photographs of the 2010 Turbo, both in Coupe and
Predictably, the images are very beautiful and totally worth checking out. More importantly, we finally have shots of all three interiors. When we say "all three," what we mean are all three transmission choices: the six-speed manual, the silly Tiptronic push-pull steering wheel buttons and the new for 2010 "proper" right-is-up, left-is-down column-mounted flapper-paddles. Have a look, and don't get too skeeved out by all the red leather.

In before 'Ring Time Speculations

I don't think anyone did 'Ring time speculations' on either of the two previous galleries for this same car.
It's been more an appreciation for its styling changes... or lack thereof.

Slower than the Spec V teehee :P

I don't care what anyone says about Porsche designers being lazy etc. This is still one classic and gorgeous design.

Agreed.
If it ain't broke... don't fix it. Personally, I like the 996 and 997 designs, and I like the Cayman, as well... although wish the Cayman looked more like the 997 in the rear quarter window area.
I think the dark gray paint and red interior look pretty darn good. If I changed anything, I might make the dash top, and the top edges of the door cards, the instrument cluster, and the steering column dark gray leather, to wrap the outside of the car into the interior a bit more. I think the color combo is quite striking.

what's 'proper' about right is up, left is down?
sounds like a microsoft thing. hit start to close.
just put in a proper up down gate.

You know, I like Porsche. The lack of dramatic stylistic evolution is fine by me. But when...WHEN...are we going to update that radio/nav setup!? It's the ugliest on the market. And I don't mean the ugliest for an exotic, either...I mean the ugliest, period.

Yeah, why are the pictures so small?

I see the interior still looks like crap even though this car is priced over $135K.
Yes, the Turbo is one of the fastest production sports cars available but how about giving consumers a little bit more luxury/creature comforts/technology for their money...
Can't even get multifunction steering wheel audio controls for $135K without it being a separate option.
Ah Porsche...where they nickel and dime you to death in regards to options

But the QUALITY of the interior is still very good though.
BoxerFanatic 2:00PM (8/10/2009)
Would you rather that they do what some other companies do, and make everything either standard or option package mandatory, and charge the full price by default?
What if some people don't want a lot of that stuff?
Granted Porsche does retail-gouge on stuff, charging high markups on each thing... but I have a feeling deals can be made with that stuff, and it is a bit of fluff that porsche entices dealers with, from customers who don't care so much about nickels and dimes... and just pay what cars cost, and get what they want, and write the check.
I like the fact that they are variable, and don't have such strict packaging.

Hear hear.
Porsche is the king of charging you up the wazoo for every option on Earth.
I am surprised they don't charge people to come on the lot to look at the car and to breath the special Porsche air that they pump into the showrooms.
They just take it too far.
Jim Dubois 2:21PM (8/10/2009)
Agree with your Venom,
At some point Porsche better offer more for the money as we now have cars priced around $45K offering similar straight line performance (ie. BMW 335i coupe 0-60 in about 4.7 secs) as compared to a $95K 911 Carrera S.
Even a $65K Mercedes super luxury E class sedan with V8 engine can do 0-60 in 5.2 secs.
Other examples, $25K 2009 Subaru WRX 0-60 under 5 secs, $35K STI 0-60 4.8secs.
Porsche has racing heritage (blah blah blah) and is no doubt legendary but a lot of other cars are catching up to performance levels at half the price...

That red interior, while high quality, is atrocious.

The G8 called, it wants its wheels back.

Not much left in originality as wheels go nowadays with some variation of the spoke being wildly popular. The Porsche in this gallery has 14 spokes.
I count 10 on the G8. They come off more as a 5 V's then spokes.

Dodge had a closer looking wheel on the SRT10 years ago.

Not that I can't find dozens of other examples, but your way off.
