Barrett-Jackson 2009: The Mustangs

There has always been a plethora of pony cars at Barrett-Jackson, and this year is no different. Buyers have a choice between just about any classic Mustang they could ever want: Mach 1, Boss 302, Boss 429, GT500, and more. There is even a 1967 Shelby GT500 "Eleanor" used in the movie Gone in 60 Seconds. A few modern Stangs are up for auction as well including the 2009 FR500CJ Cobra Jet prototype and, of course, the very first retail 2010 Shelby GT500. A few Mustangs have already brought pretty good money, including a 1970 Boss 302 that went for $137,500 and a 1969 Boss 302 that sold for $106,700. We expect many of the Mustangs to go for quite a bit more this evening, so check back for updates and more photos.

The 1970 SCJ drag pack car is my favorite. Unassuming dog dish hubcaps and limited trim disguise a monster that lies beneath. I probably won't get to see it though, they'll probably pull away to commercial just as the SCJ pulls up and come back in time to see *gasp* another Chevelle! Followed by an Impala and a Corvette.
Then a Viper GTS will roll up and they'll go to commercial and come back to *gasp* another Chevelle!

Guess I will never be a car collector. 100K+ for a mustang. A slow one by current standards.

firstplace.
I'm sure the people who would spend that much for a car will miss your input.
