VIDEO: KITT obviates valet parking

Something tells me the commercials for the new Knight Rider are going to be better than the show they're pimping, but we can hold out hope, however slim it may be. This week's new TV spot features lead character

It is not looking good, a 350Z looks more the part than this. GM dropped the ball, read: Corvette.

Maybe GM did want their flagship car in this craptastic production. I am fan of the 80's series but i am not looking forward to this.

I am seriously begging for an edit feature Alex!!! Please tell me that is next on your to-do list.

I will inform our Supreme Leader, the Neff, of your request!

I think hearing Will Arnett saying "Hello Michael" will be priceless enough to watch this show/movie.

agreed. Personally, I'll be pretending that the car ate Gob Bluth.
"Michael, I've made a huge mistake."

Wow if this commercial is 'good' then the series will be horrid. I'll timed, not funny, sad. At least the old series was cheesy funny, this feels more like old fans now well past their prime making a spoof of the original.

Oh no... is the next commercial going to be Michael going to the mall to pick up some presents for April and then when he comes out he calls for KITT and it drives up and pops the trunk open for Michael to drop his presents? This looks even more lame-O than the Bubonic Woman... ugh, is the writers strike really this bad that they have to rehash old 70's/80's shows? What next, re-think of Bosom Buddies staring two real gay men, living in a Lesbian hotel? Oh wait, I think FOX is producing that now...

Actually, it was this bad (essentially rock bottom) BEFORE the writers' strike. So now the networks have busted out the shovels to find a new, more spectacularly terrible bottom.

Why can't "KITT" at least have black rims? The old car was understated and didn't draw attention to itself. Hopefully this one will get destroyed or damaged in the movie and a Bullitt style Mustang will replace it.

The original wheels were stock GM wheels. I don't think they were meant to be understated just in style for 1982.

Uh, this commercial is faaaaaar from being good.

I can live with the car choice...
But the actor looks like a total loss....

Horrid... Having Will Arnett won't be enough to save this mess...

I'm seriously, SERIOUSLY, trying to find any light at the end of these tunnels that are Knight Rider promos.
At least in this one, they copied the original series' little MIDI-style melody that we'd hear 50 times per episode.
That's all I got.............

Laying down some complicated logic here:
Cheesy actor = cheesy show!

the one thing that bothers me is the how KITT looks so non high tech. Maybe he's supposed to be more "undercover", but the Pontiac looked like it might have some high tech goodies stuffed under it. And what's with only 550 hp? That's all you can get out of a high tech engine? Shouldn't it have some kind of turbine/fuel cell hybrid giving it an ungodly amount of horsepower?
