BMW move means TOTAL commitment towards fuel cell vehicles - UPDATED

Automaker BMW and oil company TOTAL have announced they have partnered to promote hydrogen powered internal combustion technology for future vehicles. BMW will develop hydrogen-powered vehicles like the upcoming 7-Series hydrogen car, which is a prototype hydrogen burning internal combustion engine, while TOTAL pledges to open and operate 3 hydrogen fueling stations in Europe by 2007. (The 7-Series, incidently, debuts that time.) TOTAL already has a station in Berlin with the second one to open in Munich. Announcements for the third station will be made some time this summer.
