Next BMW X5 caught on Dragon's Tail
The excellent action photographers over at Killboy.com have caught a couple of BMW X5 mules wearing next gen skin tackling The Tail of the Dragon in North Carolina. Looks like we'll see new headlight and taillamp shapes along with revised bumpers – probably subtle tweaks along the links of what the X3 received. It appears the Killboy crew specializes in photographing all manner of motos on the Dragon's tail and we were surprised to see BMW using the famous set of twisties to test the new X5. It's almost like they wanted to get caught.

No no it's a new Kia!
I don't know if you got it down in the states but for a while Kia offered a BMW clone grille with a round logo on their clonemobile.

As a moto rider and car geek.... you guys should look through the Killboy gallery. They have some incredible photographers working those corners!

and they were moving too. It was very impressive seeing those two largish SUVs (following by a 5er touring) attack the corners. I was able to get a good look while making the trek down there myself last weekend.

Dragon's ok, but there's dozens of roads that are just as good, and better, littered through mountain regions across the US.
As Noah mentioned - you go there to get 'spy shot'.

i suppose your typical x5 buyer won't be afraid of $3.50+ gas?

yep. If you drive an X-5, you obviously aren't worried about the price of gas, housekeeping, or any other extra expense.

Drove the dragon a couple of years ago. Saw some Mopar undercover stuff but didn't have a camera.
Took a couple of passes at the dragon driving pretty aggressively and it was more fun than a man should be allowed to have.
