Pininfarina Sergio

Mahindra has been denied in its attempt to build Pininfarina after several of the Italian coachbuilder's creditors refused to accept the Indian automaker's offer.

The Pininfarina Sergio is a concept no more, with the production car making its debut at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Only six examples will be produced, all for private customers.

Times have been tough for European coachbuilders. Major automakers that once turned to these contract manufacturers for small production runs have since developed the capability to produce in scale. And before the coachbuilders could regroup, the recession hit, and the economy in Europe is still recovering.
