Race In The Mint 400 | The List #0400

"It is an event for only those with true grit."

Who doesn't love a good off-road race? No one. That's who. On this episode of The List our own Jessi Combs competes in the toughest off-road race in North America, the Mint 400. Unfortunately, the 1979 Funco truck that Jessi blasts through the desert in is just a one-seater. Where does that leave Patrick, the second half of our hosting duo? On the sidelines re-enacting scenes from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas of course!

In between hilarious hijinks and after inspection of the vehicle is complete, Patrick gives Jessi an impromptu pre-race interview. Jessi is known for driving lots of things really, really fast, but when asked how much time she's had behind the wheel of this particular vehicle, her answer nearly left Patrick speechless. Before the start of the 92-mile race she had only driven the car "about four blocks," and "never got out of second gear".

To no ones surprise though, our resident lead-foot rises to the challenge and gets off to a great start. Narrating for us the toll that controlling the vehicle was taking on her body, it's clear that this is not a race for the faint of heart. Luckily, Jessi is very much not faint-hearted.

Where does she end up in the race? You'll have to watch the episode above to find out. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the twists and turns on this episode of The List.
