This video from FastLaneTruck.com handily demonstrates just how potent the EcoBoost powertrain makes the 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor. Pitting the new truck against the V8 Raptor of yesterday, with a little boastful revving ahead of the drag race, the FLT guys show us what is what. And as you can see, there is no contest – the slimline six leaves the 2014 V8 version standing. But man, the V8 sounds good.

Much like the classic 1990s GMC Syclone/Typhoon that favored turbo V6 power instead of V8 thump, the 2017 Raptor reached for forced induction. As you know, there is now a 450-horsepower 3.5-liter V6, and a significant weight loss to make the modern truck far quicker than its predecessor.
