Death Race 2050 trailer offers glimpse at dystopian automotive culture

The future of the United Corporations of America will be full of cars designed to drive fast and kill people. At least that's the case in the trailer for Death Race 2050, a remake of the cult classic Death Race 2000 from 1975, which starred David Carradine and Sylvester Stallone. If you're not familiar with the flick, this IMDB synopsis tells you everything you need to know: "In a dystopian future, a cross country automobile race requires contestants to run down innocent pedestrians to gain points that are tallied based on each kill's brutality."

There's plenty of ridiculousness in the Death Race 2050 trailer, as you'd expect. And there are also cars. Most of them have a general bulbous exterior appearance, with various mandibles and weapons clearly designed for killing. It's all very strange, which is apparently the point. Oh, and there's also a Hummer. See it all for yourself above, and stay tuned for the film's official release on January 17, 2017.
