F1 driver Max Chilton gives girlfriend a NASCAR scare

How’s this for initiation into the world of racing cars?

British IndyCar driver Max Chilton took his girlfriend Chloe for a spin in an 800-horsepower Chevrolet SS NASCAR racer at the 74th Members Meeting in Goodwood, England.

According to Chilton, she had never been in a racing car before, and a NASCAR Chevy seems like the perfect tool to sample some of the excitement. Despite the McDonalds livery on the Chevy, Chilton seems to focus on doing donuts during his stint.

Chilton got his hands on the ex-Jamie McMurray Chevrolet SS at the 74th Members Meeting at the Goodwood Motor Circuit on March 17. The previous year he had tried out Kyle Busch's NASCAR Camry at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, so Chilton has had a bit of experience in a stock car – unlike his poor passenger.

Chilton is formerly known for representing the Manor/Marussia F1 team, and for driving the Nissan LMP1 at the Le Mans 24 Hours endurance race. This year, he drives a Chevrolet-powered Dallara for Chip Ganassi Racing in the IndyCar series.
