Racing DeLorean goes a hell of a lot faster than 88 mph

It might have worn a beautiful stainless steel body and eventually earned movie star status, but the DeLorean DMC-12 wasn't a performance powerhouse – at least not from the factory. However, this tuned example from Putsch Racing should have absolutely no problem hitting 88 miles per hour and well beyond.

The aggressive wheels, racing stripes, and laser-cut vents in the hood immediately tell everyone that this DeLorean is far from stock. The engine remains the original PRV V6, but it now makes a claimed 210 horsepower thanks in part to a custom intake manifold that routes to a trio of Weber carbs. The resulting improvement in exhaust note is reason enough for the upgrades. Give this DMC-12 a listen in the video above because the machine sounds every bit as good as Marty McFly playing Johnny B. Goode.
