This is the sort of crazy accident that's usually captured by a Russian dashcam. But this confrontation between a pack of dozens of motorcyclists and the driver of a Range Rover happened in New York City.

It's not yet clear what began the confrontation Sunday afternoon, but the video above shows a group of motorcyclists swarming around the SUV on the West Side Highway in upper Manhattan. At one point, a motorcyclist brakes hard in front of the car, causing a fender bender. The SUV stops and is again swarmed by motorcyclists.

It's unclear what happens next, but the confrontation continued and several of the motorcyclists began damaging the car. Possibly fearing for his life, as well as the lives of his wife and 5-year-old child in the car, the unidentified driver accelerates through the crowd of bikes, striking several and running over a motorcyclist.

The gang of motorcyclists then caught up to the fleeing Range Rover. One starts bashing in the driver-side window with his helmet, while another tries to punch through a rear window. The driver was eventually pulled from the car, and beaten. He suffered minor injuries and received stitches to his face, according to the New York Daily News.
