Hornet Sign owner Brad Kolb has said that the wrap, one of a series of realistic looking images made for truck tailgates, was meant as a marketing tool to drive interest in his company's products. With a spot on a recent KWTX news broadcast and (obviously) a growing storm of Internet traffic, he was pretty spot on in that regard.
Not surprisingly, Kolb would prefer that his bad taste not be confused with criminal intentions. Despite the rather violent nature of his promotion, Kolb told KWTX, "I wasn't expecting the reactions we got, nor do we condone this by any means."
