This is the electric bike of the future

If you're in the market for an electrically-assisted bicycle, you've got several options, but the majority look like backyard engineering experiments. And that's because, for the most part, they are.

Enter Bosch, NuVinci and Gates. The three suppliers came together to collaborate on their vision of the next great e-bike, and it's easily the most comprehensive – and downright attractive – offering we've seen to date.

Shown at the Taiwan's Taipei bike show, Bosch supplied the two-wheeled concept with its battery pack and electronics, with Gates' maintenance-free Carbon Drive belt and a NuVinci rear hub that uses planetary gearing for an infinite number of ratios.

Unfortunately, this collab is just a concept for now, but if the suppliers can get the price down from an estimated $4,000, this could be the e-bike you've been waiting for.
