Tazzari announces UK pricing for Zero electric car

It's only been about six months since we first heard about the Tazzari Zero, a small 2-seat electric car that's expected to have enough power to muster up a top speed of 56 miles per hour. Early projections had the starting price for a Zero at around the £20,000 mark, and Tazzari actually seems to have come in just under that figure.

The £18,000 electric car is expected to make its debut in production form at this year's Bologna Motor Show in December. European sales are expected to begin shortly thereafter. Standard equipment will reportedly include 15" alloy rims, leather seating surfaces and a removable roof panel for open air motoring.

A full charge of the car's lithium ion battery pack will take around 9 hours with a conventional plug in the UK, but a special charger will allow for an 80 percent charge in just 50 minutes. Range should come in at around 88 miles.
