Ibuyeco car insurance offsets 18,000 tons of CO2 in first three months

Ibuyeco is a green car insurance program that launched on World Environment Day (June 5) with a push from supermodel Laura Bailey and, according to the company, has managed to offset 18,000 tonnes of CO2 since that day. By charging a bit more than standard insuarnce, ibuyeco works with The CarbonNeutral Company to, oh, I suppose plant trees and whatnot. How much a person pays depends on the vehicle's engine size, fuel type and how far he or she drives in a year. Considering that there's a little flash animation on the ibuyeco website that says that taking just one car off the road for a year will eliminate a ton of CO2, is it safe to assume that ibuyeco has signed up 18,000 customers?
