Delta BioFuels starts making biodiesel in Natchez, Mississippi

There are other biodiesel plants in Mississippi, but I like to hear stories about green car-related revival in the area where Hurricane Katrina struck. The announcement last week that Delta BioFuels has started biodiesel production at its plant in the Port of Natchez, Mississippi fits the bill. This is an 18-million-gallons-per-year plant, but changes in the way it makes the fuel (from batch process to continuous flow) will raise that level to somewhere between 80 to 100 million gallons per year, probably by the end of this year.

There's more information at the company's website.
